Metal/Metal until oil pressure... Advise

Guys when i fire my car I hear metal on metal.... Like smack smack gone as soon as oil is pressurized.

Background..

Last week I raced a high comp built 400ci z06 threw some VP in and cranked her up only to find car didn't want to make boost. When i say didn't want to make boost i mean it shouldve been on 50 and was on 27. then 26 then 25.

Anyway... Compressor wheel is murdered the outer part i'm guessing from surge from running a hard bov daily. Has shaftplay.. And theres a leak somewehre in the housing cause just as soon as the car comes into boost now you hear massive exhaust leak.

Its not my header i just had it all re-tigged. (RNR) Nor is this boostleak related... MY TB is leaking and i have an injector seal leaking but this is not a boostleak. I've been driving a 2.3L 67mm car for 4 years now.

On to the motor

2.3L spun to 8k regularly for 4 years.. daily driven.. prolly almost 70k on it.

My fear... Spun Rod Bearing..... Oil was good though. And I never hear it again. And its almost too high pitched of a knock than the spun bearings ive herd. Its more like a ping ping gone.

So i beat the vette but i loose a motor and a turbo blahhhhhhhhhh

What do you guys think.. Motor never made any knock at startup before this night.

well if your turbo blew could explain y your not holding half the boost....ur throttle body seals leaking means another boost leak, now if you have an injector seal leaking...depending how cracked it could cause a lean condition cuz ur spittin fuel replaced mine twice in 10k miles...id say my guess possible bad lifters, maybe somethin in the bottom end, knock on wood and it is, fu*k stock rebuild...im running 15k on my 2.0 built, but start with those parts and check for knock on a scanner...good luck

Can you hear were its coming from? as in the top end, or the bottom end of the car? If it was lifters you would hear it continuously....sounds weird

Man it sounds ontop of the motor.

But theres been quite a few spun bearings that sounded like they were in the head.

Kinda warm today didn't do it.

Gonna switch to a winter oil. Fingers crossed.

to see if its somethin in the head, pull the valve cover first and look for any metal shavings or check when you change oil....you could also with the car off manually crank the car and with a stethoscope listen for the noise..??? if a lifter is bad it might take more pressure to build up, but if one is bad might also explain your bad performance...or at least have somethin to do with it...good luck

I already stated oil was fine.

Obviously its not something i'm going to see. It goes away with oil pressure.

I'd bank on the turbo. If you had a rod knocking it would not go away only get louder.
I blew a HX40 turbo on my DSM a few years back and it sounded like valve train noise until the shaft broke. Lots of smoke from the exhaust as well.
The turbo is toast anyways if the compressor wheel is chewed up and would contribute to lack of boost.
