50hp gained, 30% fuel saved from K & N filter!!

I think my K & N splashed oil on my MAS, I feel like my car gained 50+hp, and it is doing 30% better on milage. I am a little worried that it is running too lean.
Is there any way to clear the MAS?

Bawahhaaa If it makes HP its cause its causing the MAF to misread and lean out! So take the MAF off and put it in a big ziplock and spray it with non-clorinated brake cleaner- let it dry and reinstall

You could use the non-chlor brake clean but if the oil made it into the vent holes in the post of the MAS you may have to VERY VERY VERY CAREFULLY directly clean the internal post.

The post is just a post. There are no electronics in there. The post is specially shaped to create vortices in the airstream. Oil won't hurt it.

Read this:

What you guys are thinking of is a hotwire MAF. Evos and DSMs don't have those.

An air filter can give you better power by decreasing vacuum in the tube before the turbo. This can increase turbocharger efficiency slightly. And it can help the turbo spool faster. The faster spool can lead to the perception of greater horsepower, though, since it increases the rate of acceleration increase or "jerk" (1st derivative of acceleration).

I got much better highway gas milage when I installed a test pipe. It is a huge restriction in the exhaust stream.

I used to get 21/26mpg (city/highway). Now I get 19/31mpg.

Note that at steady cruise, the MAF reading isn't relied upon as heavily as it is during WOT. The ECU uses feedback from the O2 sensor to adjust the fuel delivered. So even if the MAF was giving faulty readings, you wouldn't see a huge change in fuel consumption. The change in fuel usage is due to the greater efficiency of the entire system.

Sorry guys guess I took it the wrong way.
It sounded like he dam near doused the MAS in recharge oil, thats why I said take the post cover off.
Hope you didnt get any on the honeycomb, I wouldnt clean it with any thing to harsh cause it has a NC coating on it, I found that out when I put my order in for a sheet of it.
So, just a heads up.
