Interesting. I've been told that the Garrett Turbo charges are prone to failure eariler than most other Turbos. I understand that the BW will way outlast the Garrett, and since mine appears to have shaft play in and out after two.five years of use I'm beginning to agree. So I'm simply looking at my options. Should I stay with an HTA3586R Garrett turbo or should I move on to a comparable BW turbo? I know very little about the BW turbo and am looking for advice here. Perhaps I should start a new thread and not hi-jack this one...

Borg Warner EFR 8374(If you can get hold of one)
Borg Warner S300 SX FMW(Basically EFR 8374 without EFR fancy stuff)
I believe Borg Warner turbo only come in Twin Scroll T4 Frame

I would stick with a turbo that fits in your current setups footprint. I sent you a PM about this as well. I would not reengineer everything unless you really want a whole new kit. At that point I would buy a v-band setup anyway and the EFR/BW stuff isnt v-band in/out. If you want to sell the scraps from your blown HTA86 I have a good 35R I need a turbine wheel for. I would be interested in taking yours off your hands if the turbine wheel isnt damaged.
