today it was about 23 degrees and i was driving my car along and i noticed a whine... not like a tcase from what ive heard they sound like jets. but it kinda sounded like an alternator or... idk if its just cuz it got cold so fast but idk. i hope its not a tcase i just bought the car but it did say on a recipt i found that a new tcase was in it so any help...

 

did you let it warm up before you drove off?

My shep trans/tcase whines. Does it whine at low rolls or does it get louder as you drive? if it goes away you have nothing to worry about.

you have nothing to worry about then. Your cars gonna make weird noises when it gets cold, dont worry! as long as it goes away after you're cruising past like 30mph you're good to go!

glad to hear it. yes.. it will whine. sometimes they take alittle abuse and then they whine. my car didnt start whining until after i launched it. but as long as the whine is gone after 1st gear etc.. you're good to go.

 

theres a whine after those gears but only when i let go of the gas and at like 2200 rpms.. but not loud

 

as long as the whine goes away thats all that matters.

 

sounds good. and i looked at a recipt from the guy that i bought it from and he got the tcase replaced in june. so i still got a warrenty! but i have to go to michigan to use it. im in illinois

 

What fluid do you have in the t.c and diff??If you use redline it tends to be a bit louder then diaqueen..
