Variable Vane Turbocharger??
Variable Vane Turbocharger??
I am interested to hear if anyone has fitted a variable vane turbo to an evo or if anyone has had any experience working with variable vane turbochargers. I think it would be interesting to see if there would be any benefit to this on the evo platform.
there are only a couple variable vane turbos around and they are very expensive, need a controller and arent sized for what the typical evo would want.

Size wise the only thing worth trying would be the holset HE351VE. its about 550hp capable with exhaust side giving from 3cm-25cm hotside airflow. and you can pick them up cheap. saw a new one sell for 250 a couple months ago. its been installed on early 4g63 but it was a budget project using a wastegate to control flapper. he never produced a dyno graph but his text said it spooled fast. this would have to be done using e85 to keep exhaust temps down. it wouldnt last on 93 octane.
