I have the Buschur dual muffler 3" on my car, there is a Magnaflow where the cat would be and a BR bullet in the rear since I have a JDM rear bumper, I also wrapped the entire system, it is very quiet, even at WOT it's not that loud just sounds mean!

Anyone know how the buschur bullet compares to a small diameter round magnaflow?

The RRE is dead quiet.

I have it on my race car (transferred over from my DD before I sold it) and people that come watch the car on the track laugh at me because I have the quietest car out there.

As a DD I ran it with a RRE stealth cat (i.e. test pipe) and it was almost as quiet as stock.

The best thing about it is that there was no "drone" on the highway.

Look, if you want something quieter, just stick with the stock exhaust.
Unfortunately, this what I had to do. Good relationships with neighbors > a slightly quicker car.

How to best contact Road Race Engineering

Aurally:

(562) 777-1522

Leave a message if it goes to voice mail. We have four lines and 1-4 people answering the phones depending on how hard it is ringing off the hook that day. If you dont leave a message, we cant call you back. You can also e-mail a phone number and time to call.

Electronically:

We really really really (really) prefer e-mail over PMs. Our e-mail clients give us so much better control and viewing of what has been replied to, filtering, folder sorting, saved drafts, organizing multi long conversations and much more.

Mike W is mike@roadraceengineering.com

Shop appointments, install price estimates, you want Sam at shop@roadraceengineering.com

If you live in an e-mail less world and must use PMs Use these screen names:

For general stuff "Mike W"

For Shop appointments Hit up Sam at "RRE-Shop"

Physically:

We are open for walk in customers Monday through Friday from 10:00 am till 8:00 pm. We are often here earlier and usually much later but you take your chances by just showing up. Any earlier or later we may not be fully staffed for all your needs. Weekends can happen by appointment for parts pick up. Occasionally light installs.

The address is the same as on all 400+ pages of our web site.

Road Race Engineering
13022 Ladana Ct.
Santa Fe Springs, CA 90670

Here is a link to Google Maps with our address.

http://maps.google.com/maps?q=13022+...0.036040&hl=en

You are all big boys and can figger out how to use Mapquest and Yahoo Maps too if that is your thing.

Even my good friend who had a cobb on his car drove mine and said mine was quieter than his and ended up buying one because of it I've had 5-6 exhausts and it is by far the quietest, and because of that I got rid of it to make my own custom version that is slightly louder because it was TOO quiet.

I have ran the following:

Tanabe Medallion
Cobb
RRE Stealth
Buschur v-band Bullet center (then added extra oval muffler in the rear)
Jun BL (was going to modify it but decided not to)
Buschur Magnaflow & 6" magnaflow in center.
DP, Testpipe & stock catback combo
Buschur Magnaflow with cat
Buschur TBE with Dynomax VT muffler (current and sounds exactly stock)

Thats about what I remember at the moment.

When I ran the RRE stealth, it was not quiet. However in your video clip it seems a lot quieter than the one I had. I did buy it used, so maybe the muffler packing was worn down. However it was a pretty heavy exhaust and I also didnt like the idea of it being mild steel.

The tricky part about these video clips people post are that the viewer just has to lower the volume on their speaker and a loud exhaust will seem quiet. Unless maybe it can be compared to a stock exhaust with the same camera. This way we can get an idea of the tone and dynamic difference. Camera's most of the time cant pick up what an exhaust truly sounds like.

Then there are other times when an exhaust is not loud but is deep sounding. So the camera mic cant pick up the bass and makes it seem like its quiet. But in person it carries a real deep bass. Well that deep tone pretty much equates to a loud exhaust because the bass just becomes annoying and equivalent to a drone.

I will put the standard now on what is considered for an exhaust to be quiet. If you can start the car drive around rev it etc... (non WOT) and another person with out seeing the exhaust tip makes a comment such as "so when do you plan on replacing the OEM exhaust" only then do you have a quiet exhaust.

The Evo chassis is not sound friendly or the type of sound padding they use on it is just garbage. It just loves resonates any type of exhaust, engine and or drive-train noises to be heard in the cabin.

Loud or not, the deeper an exhaust sounds the more annoying it becomes in cabin, giving it that annoying droning feeling. The less deep it is and the more passive it becomes.

Which version of the RRE did you have? You do realize there are multiple versions like they are shown in the video correct? They have versions with perforated or louvered resonators. And also have options to just have the "stealth" muffler with no resonators which would make it loud or a version with the "stealth" muffler and one resonator. And the other most common being the one I ran with the two large resonators and the "stealth" muffler which is their most quiet set up.

Exhausts I've ran:
-invidia N1
-hks hi-power
-magnaflow ti
-greddy ti-c
-rre stealth
-greddy sp2
-rsr ex-mag
-agency power
-buschur catback with magnaflow muffler(track exhaust)
-my current "custom" magnaflow with one large magnaflow muffler and a single 24" resonator

This: All resonators and muffler were perforated.

ETS with a Magnaflow. I converted my 3.5" with aero turbine to 3.5" with 3.5" magnaflow. I can have conversations in the car and it is almost like stock on the highway. Call Michael on monday

Speaking from personal experience with trying not to **** off neighbors at 5 am, I say get a second car for daily driving. Its not going to be easy to quiet down a 700hp 4 cylinder. My rmr exhaust is quiet but when I installed the mil spec 100 cell it made it much louder, a deeper loud though.

None done yet but I will work on it. It is noticeably quieter than it was and this is with a 3.5" exhaust on my car. I have lost no power or spool.
