Help Request / AEM Intake Install / Pics

Hey guys. Just installed the CARB approved AEM (I live in Cali=(
During the install, the stock BOV was contacting the upper coolant hose. I had to trim approx 2” of of the BOV hose but as you can see the top is still in contact w/ the coolant hose (I’m not happy). I installed a poor mans aluminum shield to slow down the rub problem (The hard pipes are Nisei)
Requesting suggestions on getting this interference corrected

Thanks & Peace

Can you rotate the BOV inlet tube more toward the radiator and still be able to connect your BOV there? I was just curious, what's with the extra clamps on the BOV tube coming from the UICP? Good luck and nice ride

Thanks Bro. I bought the car 2.5 years ago w/ its only mod (Nisei FMIC & pipes). I guess that added section is not stock???

When I installed the AEM pipe, the BOV was not in position to fit w/out removing 2" of that piping & it still contacts the coolant hose=(

Thanks for sure!

Edit. Update. I corrected the problem by shortening the hose from the UICP. Waste of time posting this thread looking for help =(

Maybe Nisei could sell you the correct hose, or buy one of those universal radiator hoses (bend it as you see fit, but not very pretty). I know I had to fiddle with mine for a bit to get it to sit right.

I don't know if you fixed the issue yet, but here's my suggestion; I hope it makes sense:
1. remove DV and rubber coupler from intake tube
2. remove complete DV hose from UICP
3. install DV with rubber coupler right at the UICP port, with the "golden" hat facing down.
4. use the remaining DV hose to connect DV back to intake tube.

Hope you get the idea, in short, place the DV under the UICP where there's more room, but don't forget to install in the correct flowing possition (read above).
Also, you might ( actually will) need to extend the vacuum hose for the DV.
Good luck,

Ed
