Adjustable Aem. Not sure of the timing settings with the 4g64 dohc belt but wouldn't mind knowing myself.

It all depends on what cam and how thick of a headgasket you use. Every set up is going to be different. That's why you use a degree wheel to index the cams.

I have two brand new Fidanzas if you need them man, they're just sitting in my garage I can let them go for cheaper than new if you need them.

If they're not already claimed I could use one of those fidanza gears feel free to shoot me a PM.. You're correct I was assuming stock head gasket and cams and should have taken into consideration all the various setups people may choose and considered not all cams aftermarket come degree'd. Sorry about that. Thanks for the clarification.

^I would listen to this guy. They have that many world record they must be doing something right. I have also personally seen and drove an awd built evo and it was a quality built rig.

My set up is gonna be running stock cams as well as head gasket well auto zone replacement for the 4g64 sohc gasket. So far the info i could gather is you just line up the bottom end timing marks on compression stroke then line the two ( fidanza ) gears up a tooth off then move the adjustable center section ( of the fidanzas ) 3.75 degrees to make the actual adjustable part line up with the mark on the head . For aftermarket you need to / should degree them which also helps you move your power band for which set up / racing you're aiming for. Feel free to correct me if Im wrong Hope fully this can help ya during your swap . Good luck with your swap .

I run Fidanza's on my DSM and on the 2.1l in my Evo. Like someone above said, just get the cams degree'd, every setup is going to be different. I had my cams degree'd on the 2.1l and they weren't adjusted anywhere near 3.75*. There are quite a few variables that will come into play when you degree the cams. How much material was taken off the head/block, thickness of head gasket, etc. If you have a shop do it, make sure they use solid lifters!

I still have my solid lifters sitting in my comp cams degree wheel kit. lol. That's about all they're good for.

What kind of cams are you running and what timing belt head gasket and compression ratio?

I'm running Comp 280 cams (they came in the car when I bought it), Gates Racing 4g63 belt, Power Enterprises headgasket (unsure on exact thickness, but its fairly thick), and I'm running Wiseco HD pistons at 9.7:1 compression ratio.

I was planning on tuning the car on E85, but now that I moved to NC, I haven't seen it anywhere down here. The headgasket will probably bump the compression down a tad, which I'm not too worried about as its more than likely going to be a pumpgas car for the time being.
