Building a high hp pump gas 2.4L

I am currently building my 2.4L 4g64. I do not want to switch to E85 and this is a street car so race gas is out. My ultimate goal is a 600-650 whp car with a usable powerband. My current plan is what follows:

2.4L 4g64 cr between 9.2-9.5
ported head
GSC R2 cams
6466 maybe a 6766 depending on powerband

Ideas, thoughts, concerns? Thanks guys

I would go with a way smaller turbo like An fp or a hta frame for your power goal . The turbos u listed are mor for drag racing rather than for the street . It would spool to late with the low com u running and would b out of your motor powerband .

Agreed, a smaller turbo would be more fun on the street, but to achieve the same power on a small turbo you need more pressure, pressures I fear are beyond the octane rating of 93.

Unless you're gunna spray some meth you have no chance on getting to 6-650whp on a stock frame turbo running pump gas. You may be able to get there with a 6466 or a 3586.

IMO it's all about the area under the curve. Shooting for a peak number does you know good other than enabling you to brag to friends and coworkers. If you really want to get to that arbitrary number then look in the dyno results section of this forum and find a pump gas build thats fits the bill and use it as a reference.

I asked JB this same question a few months back. I'll dig for the thread but i believe it went something like 2.4+3586+magnus and gsc cams and he was hitting just over 600 on 92 pump.

This is my same goal next round and I plan to follow that formula exactly with the edition of some Curt brown goodies and hoping for the best.

Not looking or arbitrary Dyno numbers and certainly never said I thought 600 whp was possible on a stock frame turbo on straight 93, it's called a power goal, and I also mentioned that I don't want to sacrifice usable powerband for peak power.

Can't seem to find his simple break down of what it takes but here was me asking about the limits of the 3586. I'm sure he would chime in and give us the run down of that set up.

Aren't you making over 500 on the ef4 now? Have you thought about just going the 2.4 route on the ef4 with a few more goodies? You MAY be able to make 550 for a whole hell of a lot cheaper.

I would do 9:1 compression and not more, Magnus V5, the R2s as listed, a GOOD ported head, big exhaust, etc.

I made 588 on 23psi with a 3586, 625 at 25psi and 648 at 28.8psi on 92 octane.

The dyno sheets are all out there under my name, if I get a chance I will link them but you can find the results if you want to look.

I did 650whp same 3586 on an 11.5-1 2.0 on 93(dynojet) with the Talon, on an Evo with the right parts not hard at all.

I did make 510 on 33 psi out of my ef4, I am going to run my ef4 on my 2.4 during break in. I am torn because I don't want to lose the fun aspect of a smaller frame turbo but I also want big pump power.

I would be very interested in seeing your full mod list and Dyno sheet for my own R&D, I would really appreciate a link. Thank you
