Please help.. Weird noise after accident

A little background info to help out. A truck backed up into my evo at the parking lot on the right front end. It made some minor damage to the hood and bumper, but I start hearing some weird noise from the hood when I start the car from cold. The noise will disappear after 2-3 miles of driving.
The insurance company said that it is not related to the accident unless I can prove it. My car is stock and has 40K mile on it. Everything was fine before the accident.
Do you know what may cause the problem?

Sounds like accessory belt.

Do you think it can be damaged from a parking lot back up accident? Is it located very close to the front bumper?

might just be a coincidence but sounds like either your serp belt or maybe a tensioner pulley

what ever this noise is, it didn't happen from your accident. its an accessory belt squeak. if it goes away, i wouldn't worry too much. you might want to just play with the tension and see if its really loose, but its probably nothing i'd worry about....

I used to have a similar squeaking sound. Once changed the air conditioning belt the noise is gone!

It's probably just a coincidence that it started right after getting backed into

It is probably your belt. Check to see if there are cracks in it and also make sure that is it spinning on the pulleys properly. Another thing you can do is spray tire shine on the belt real quick. If it stops squeaking...time for a new belt.
