Often a very minor coolant leak at the head gasket will exhibit these symptoms. Essentially you are getting the right mix of cylinder head temperature and block temperature to create the leak and then it goes a way when it's nice and hot and everything is expanded.
What is the spec for the oil in the 6.5? That seems a little heavy even though you are in Florida. Unnecessarily thick oil does nothing but rob power.
You might want to check where the air is leaking when you do the leak down test. 7% isn't bad but it's not going to hurt to do further tests.
Try this: 1) open you radiator cap and look if it does bubble then its your head gasket or cracked block (check your oil and make sure there's no coolant mix); 2) open your oil cap and listen, if air is leaking there then it's your rings; 3) check your intake manifold by uninstalling the intake pipe and open the throttle body, if air is leaking there then the valve guides are worned out; 4) 2 ways, take out the turbo and listen to see if you have a broken exhaust valve or run the car on idle and put a paper at the tip of the exhaust and check if paper is trying to go in the exhaust like a vacuum. If it does then it's definitely a broken exhaust valve.
Reminder...these are the simplest things you can do before you move on and do any further work. It might save you some $$$. Just my .02 cents.
