None of those:

Top Ring: 3 o'clock (towards back of engine)
2nd Ring: 9 o'clock (towards front of engine)
Top Oil Ring: 10-11 o'clock
Oil Spacer Ring: 6 o'clock
Bottom Oil Ring: 2-3 o'clock

Just to clarify, when you say 9 o clock front engine, you mean towards timing belt not front of car correct?

Just out of curiosity, wouldn't a gap every 90 degree's have a better seal vs the 3/9 oclock and 10-11/2-3?

Just found my manual for the piston gapping, and Mitsu manual says;

ring 1 , north east (2 30ish)
ring 2, south west (7 30ish)
ring 3, north west (10 30ish)
ring 4, south east (4 30ish)

Go with mitsu. From all the data i have collected. You wont rings 180* apart and never place the gap over or 90* to the wrist pin. I did and accidentally scored my bores. After i noticed i repositioned them and it smoothed it all back out. Sadly i noticed to late and my bore is more then spec for out of round/cylindricity. Its all good. Its time for build number 3 to come to life.
