Coolant Leak, anybody else?

I've been smelling coolant on and off for about 8 months. The level doesn't seem ever be low. Yesterday I was replacing my IC pipes and noticed sediment (calcium looking like when water boils away) and some gel like stuff (which I think is antifreeze) around the lower part of the thermostat housing. I can't really tell where it's coming from because there are so many things running into the housing. It seems like it is most likely coming from the housing cover. The way the cover bolts over the thermostat, one side doesn't have any bolts, the bolts are at 12oclock, 3oclock and 6oclock, but nothing at 9oclock.
I was planning on a Raliart thermostat anyways so I'll see when I put it in.
Anybody body else have any leaks?

On my car the outlet from the radiator to the overflow tank started to leak very slightly. The little single wire they used to clamp that hose must have gotten weak. After replacing it with a proper (tiny) hose clamp everything is fine.

I use to have the leak as well. It stopped once I replaced the thermostat and sealed it nicely. It must have been yet another factory defect.

yes, I am getting the exact same leak coming from the thermostat housing. seems like someone from mitsubishi or all of them need to get their heads out of there u know where. I'm guessing I can get a brand new thermostat and gasket from the dealer if its under waranty.
