I'm about 2k into breaking in a new built 2.0L with the balance shafts removed.

Having never before experienced driving anything but stock 4G63s, my questions is what additional noise, vibration , harshness do you hear and feel?

Mine is sewing machine quiet until ~4k and then it has kind of an angry drone until ~4.5-5K when it gets quieter and smoother again. It has quieted down a bunch in the last 1K miles.

Depends on the setup and what types of motor mounts you are using...Solid mounts are no good for a street car.

 

I'm on OE rubber mounts.

 

I have had the balance shafts removed on my previous GSX and it made some wht of a similar sound at around that rpm range.

 

So only 500rpm range where its noticeable? That's something I think i could live with
