Is it OK to Clean and Paint thr Turbo?

I was wondering if it would be OK to clean and paint up the piece the turbo mounts to? This is the piece that is between the turbo and manifold that always seem to get rusty and cruddy. Just want to clean it up and maybe paint it with hi-temp paint. Thanks

If you do anything, get it ceramic coated. Paint will flake off, I don't care which high-temp paint you use.

The center cartridge? The problem is, how are you going to prep it correctly and get rid of the rust prior to coating it?

Ya I think that is the piece I am talking about, it bolts on to the turbo with about 5 bolts and also bolt to the header with 4 bolts. Can this be taken off cleaned up and painted?

It can be, but it won't do you any good. The paint will burn off within days (if not hours). Get it ceramic coated.

U could also look into heat wrap or they do make an actual ceramic insulated heat blanket for turbos. Design engineering makes. The insulated blanket for all kinds of turbos. It would look better and cut down under hood temps. Summit racing carries them as well. Just another option.
