Fp Red vs Fp Green
Fp Red vs Fp Green
Im lookin on buildin a street evo i wanted to upgrade to an fp red or green idk yet im lookin to have 450 500 hp i will be satisfied but ive been doin research but each turbo has been said to have their own benefits i wanted to know what u guys recommend for a street car to have around 450 500 hp thanks for the heads up guys
I am assuming that the HTA Green is the turbo being referred to in the the opening post, and not the O.S. Green, right? Or am I wrong? I have run the O.S. Green myself, but the HTA Green is a whole other ballgame.
ok so if im goin fp green what all do i need to get things ready would having this be good
bushcur exhaust ,down pipe intake , upper ic pipe tial bov arp head studs kelford 272 cams supertech valve springs retainers cosmetic head gasket would that be enough and of course a tune would that be enough to play with for a while?

Do you already have a WALBRO fuel pump? You'll need larger injectors if you are still on the stockers. Is the IC stock? Is the clutch stock? Will you be running the car on pump gasoline? How much boost do you plan on running? Research the cam choice between the Kelfords and the GSC S2's.

The OP needs to do some research for sure though.

...and every one of them is valid and crucial in making the right choice -Bryant
This is a good point that the OP should keep in mind and research. The difference, at least as I understand it, is that the Red uses two dissimilar metals in the journal bearings. One mating half of the bearing is made of steel, whereas the other half is made from brass(bronze?). Note that FP has specified the use of certain specific engine oils in the Reds and Blacks due to the dissimilar metal composition of the bearing halves on these two particular FP turbos. The HTA Green's bearings, on the other hand, are of all steel composition and more forgiving as to lighter viscosities, and lower ZDP content in the oils.

the red uses steel on steel thrust bearing like the black i believe and thats bad.
the green uses steel on copper? i dont know what the other material is.

its all good tho if you run good oil..
i had the red on stock block, i loved it.. id get the red over green but the green is pretty good also though. cant go wrong on either.
