You'll never know which one is actually better unless you test it on the exact same car and test inlet and outlet flow, temp., and pressure change. And if you have seen my ic piping you would know better, but nice cheap shot.

Oh ****, Yeah, I forgot about how the IC end take welds cause the endtanks dispersal effciency to triple.
Please, re-explain to it to the rest of us morons. Those of us with 500 horsepower daily driven cars could benefit alot from this.
Since we have all these Intercooler experts, what is your opinions of this intercooler?

I think the end tanks could be better by having a set up like the stock Evo, (inlet pipe directing flow upward), but it looks pretty good. No sharp angles, not too small or big. Not cast, and too thick, (heat soak).

It's not "Ebay brand", it's Hybrid. Just because something is sold on Ebay doesn't make it cheap.
Here's the same intercooler sold thru a web site:
http://www.japparts.com.au/Parts+Pan...ercoolers.html
I'd say buying direct thru Ebay will save $.

Those end tanks i can assure you were designed this way ONLY for fitment purposes. THATS it. NOT because it is more efficient. That core isnt small by any means. Bar and plate from spearco is great . I use their cores ALL the time. Trust me i've gone thru a few cores to make my setup. ANd know what i had to come up with. It is hard to clear that last two inches so the endtanks were cut down. Never mind the fact that your boost pressure thru the core is not evidently efficient the way the inlet and outlet ports are configured.
Now is that price they quoted above just for the IC????
How about piping???
And what is the piping bolt up to the stock turbo or stock piping??
Secondly i saw in an above post about how this core will have slightly HIGHER pressure drop that the stock unit. ANYONE care to comment on this??
How is this unit any better than the stock unit then?? is it me or are we getting a little ignorant with the "name brand" *** kissing here.
Alot of aftermarket coolers i can name just off this board can outflow and out perform this upgrade.

Well, I also knew a guy once that mopped the floors at a gym I used to go to, but I wouldn't hire him to be my personal trainer.
He works for Paisley, great. I highly doubt he has enough engineering knowledge (much less the common sense) to understand a simple concept like laminar flow. One look at that intercooler and his bright red, overpriced, inferior intercooler piping will tell you that.
And I'm damn glad I didn't get the AEM EMS, I don't want to rely on someone like that for "certified tuning" advice, I don't care if he's the authorized detailer for Paisley's drag car, which he probably is.
Funny stuff.

Actually now that I am back from LA and use of a computer I was going off what the Sales Manager of Turbonetics told me. He said they did all testing and there was almost no pressure drop and it was a great unit. Just sticking up for them and understand that hearsay of opinion does not justify the quality of a product. And dont think I have to defend my knowledge or position with a company cause you are trying to attack me cause you were offended by a comment. People in this industry and around who know me, know that I am trustworthy and have alot of experience and knowledge. And your coments are wonderful , cause you dont agree with an intercooler comment , I guess that means I cant tune a car right.

You’re from Paisley.
I was at the BM dyno day and you made the least amount of power with the most amount of mods.
Link, VF34, Greddy FMIC the list goes on.
I hope in the last year your learned how to tune.

I think you should go over your post again.
Then tell us your sticking up for someone.
I can quote Turbonetics all day long too. That doesnt mean i believe what they say or stand by all their calculations. Yeah they want people to market their product and they found you.
Think about it logically first then come to an assurtion that is valid.
No one is attacking you. YOU came out with this info and got excited about a product that is mediocre.
Sorry if you got offended just dont see your logic , thats all.
BTW i see ASE certified mechanics all day long. 1 out of 10 i would trust to work on my customers cars. If you have to ask why then you havent been around long enough.
So to say you are a certified AEM tech does nothing for me.
Good luck in your venture.
Get that car on the dyno and take an IR gun to the bottom and top sections of the intercooler. You will find that you are getting NO airflow to at least the upper 30% and probably the upper 60% of the core. If you can't understand something as basic as path of least resistance and laminar flow, I wouldn't let you pump my gas, much less come anywhere near my ECU.
Explain to an idiot like me how you're getting airflow evenly across that core. Until you can, keep standing by your vendors with inferior product. You CAN make that IC work and work well, but you would have to ditch those end tanks and cut the core down on the sides a few inches in order to weld a proper endtank on there. Too much work, IMO, when there are proven solutions out there that work, like the Buschur Racing intercooler with "backyard welds"
Definite bling factor on that IC, if that's what you're into. Might go well with that red IC piping you have that's got more curves than a Siamese hooker.
Regards,
Joe

And you are taking technical advice from someone whose title is "Sales Manager"? You do know his job is to selll stuff right? Even if he has to sell you some bull**** with it.
There are 2 possibilities here. Either your too ****ing dumb to question the obvious.....or your making money somehow off this IC. Which is it?
