the evo clutch

any dealership tech that admits that the evo clutch is weak or a POS has never accually seen one. Its a 2200 lb plate, your 99 gsx only had a 1600 lb unit. also keep in mind that the tires on the evo are sticker that any tire mitsu has used in this market before. mix that with our odd desire to rev the **** out of our cars and dump the clutch im supprised i havnt done more clutches on these cars. BTW i put an ACT clutch in one last week from RRE and the disc they sell with it is smaller in diamiter than the disc most of you are running. and i know for a fact it will out last a stock one but the tranny might not.

Umm, first of all, it may be a 2200, although i think its 2100, lb unit, but its in a heavier more power full car. The same (basically)evo you have, in japan, has a 2700 lb pressure plate...they screwed you.

No one is complaining the cluch doesn't grab hard enough, the problem is the clutch slips under heavy loads or shocking loads... I mean ya the pressure plate is heavy but the disc is synthetic... I hella don't want anytihng made of synthetic near my clutch second if you ask me the clutch size itself is small i tinhk it's only like a 215mm? someone please correct me on the size. I mean i know of cars that have a 225mm clutch for 205hp, 271hp c'mon
