Head porting??

Having a local shop port my head, more less clean up casting and install +1mm valves. just want to know if their are any tips to tell them to do or not to do. they work mostly with N/A V8s. Thanks for any info dont want to have my head screwed up. Have seen their work on V8 heads; looks nice and they seem confident they will do good work on my head. Thanks for any info.

There are a couple of threads, I did one called "cylinder head tech". Headgames has done multiple ones on combustion chamber stuff and basic port design. All the same rules work from a domestic head to these. Dont polish, dont take anything off the floor, look at the bowls, etc.

Don't open the exhaust port to the gasket would be my main deal. A NA domestic guy might pick up on that, but I would just throw that at him either way. Not only does it kill the exhaust port it leads ALOT closer to the water jacket.

And if your just doing a clean up, I wouldn't go with a oversize valve. It's really not necessary with a good valve job. We have made upwards of 1000whp on stock size valves.

Hope that helps.
