un-bend intercooler inlet?

Ok guys, this is where I am at now. Thanks to the good advice of using a smaller pipe and no heat, I think I did an alright job getting the outter part circuler. Now I just need some advice as to fix the beading. The red circle in the picture shows the beading still dented inside. How could I put that sucker out? Once again thanks for all the advice and your time in advance.

Its an ETS 3" by the ways.

Cast end tank you'll need heat and a hammer, a few metal forming tools can't hurt. If it's a welded pipe on an end tank you're better off with a pipe expander.

If worst came to worst and it is not cast, You could probably use a piece of wood, a large punch with a rounded end, and a lot of patience... Personally, I would just file a complaint with the shipper and get a new one

I would file a damage claim. Had the same kind of deal happen with my intercooler, even after trying to form the pipe back it didn't seal properly, in the end I paid a shop to just cut off the pipe and weld on a new one.

We can fix it, but it's not worth shipping it both ways. The easiest approach is cutting it off and welding a new one on or you can try to put a pipe into that is slightly smaller and rotate the pipe around in circles pushing on the inside to try to "RESHAPE" it.

That looks to be one of our intercoolers. This is common when used intercoolers are sold and not packaged with enough material.

Thanks!

Michael

grab any round pipe or piece of wood (something that wont snap/break on a hit), put it against the side, and bang it with a hammer.

I'd be able to bang that out smooth in 5minutes.

Aluminium is soft material, so thats an easy fix

Do you think using a little bit of heat will help it. Or just a smaller pipe minus the heat?

NO, that was my stupid butt trying to fix it at first. They are right on the edge, and I plan on smoothing it out with some sand paper. All else fails, I will just clamp the coupler the furthest I can from em.
