Question about HTA turbos..

Question about HTA turbos..

As far as I can tell, the only difference I see is that compressor inlet has a larger diameter. If I made a phenolic spacer for my turbo, would it not accomplish the same
Result? If there is more to it than than that, I'd love to hear it.

This is a question about reducing compressor surge, not the turbos themselves..I am concerned about the larger diameter of the inlet! If that's not clear, please ask.

That isnt an "HTA Turbo" its a housing with a surge port. The larger diameter doesnt reduce surge, the ports do.
