Crazy to put an exact # for something to fail at but if thats what you were told.. Most our 2.4 customers dont need upwards of 35psi and we have had great luck with them.. the only car we ran 40+ was the bastard w/ AMS gasket and the gasket outlasted the cranks.. LOL

I agree Mike, I shouldnt be so specific. It was 3 separate people who dont know each other that had failures all at the same boost with 3 different tuners. That also can be a lot of things. Maybe Jeff and I just have the only 2 good Cometics

Cometic were junk for a long time. I have been in the DSM game long enough to remember Dave killing a bunch WAY BACK. I know that times change and I know how I pushed the tune on my car, Mikey's, Jeff's, etc. We have 10-11 2.4s with them now and knock on wood they are all working better than the PE we tried at first.

We don't sell/use/recommend a gasket. We include a gasket and water pump with our 4G64 based builds and don't sell the stuff separately.

I've ran a cometic up to 47psi on a 10:1 2litre all last season and never had a problem.

my solution is to not run 2.4 blocks.

87mm bore is too thin between the cylinders. just not enough meat for good head gasket seal. water pump issue is bad as well. only proper solution is 250$ evo 4 water pump. plus I would NEVER run a turbo motor without cooling the underside of pistons with oil squirter. block not as strong as 2.0. timing goes off on tall 2.4 block. ad it all up and the 2.4 blocks dont make sense to me.

if I had to run a 2.4 I would use a bored stock gasket and an 0-ringed head.

94AWD, agreed on the sealing solution but about the rest........we've never split the bores on the 2.4, block in my opinion is stronger. Oil jets I find to be pretty much useless, timing is easy to fix and the water pump has good solutions. It's a cheap core is the best thing about it. Personally, I'd rather build 4g63 based engines, but the 4g64 block is a good alternative.

"if the solution is simple, God is answering"

2.4 blocks break this rule in spades. just my experience. your mileage may vary
