Ams?

Should go for the 900xTurbo kit when I get my evo & want to upgrade the turbo system or maybe something smaller than that?

It's a $4400 kit that requires a lot of supporting mods beyond whats included.

Why don't you start with the basic bolt-ons and maybe a stock-framed turbo like the HTA Green or FP Red.

It's rare that you see someone turn a stock(ish) Evo into a 600whp car overnight... and there's a lot of good reasons... (besides the $8000+ you'd have to spend on turbo kit, intercooler & piping, fuel pump & injectors, clutch, exhaust, cams... and probably a built motor.)

It's also a learning experience to mod slowly and see how each mod changes the car. If you up and change everything at once, you'll have a lot less respect for each mod's benefit and true need... and if a problem should arise, it could be any one of the 50 parts you just installed.

^ what he said.

I have an AMS 35r kit sitting in my garage. Its not going on my car anytime soon. I'm gathering up all of the supporting mods for my build first before I even think about slapping it on.

I definitely understand where you're coming from and will definitely follow. I've been around Evos for a bit. I'm somewhat new to the forum & I was just putting this out there for a feeler to see the road I really wanted to take on the modding journey. Thanks though. I appreciate the help

The AMS 900x (PTE6265) is what I want my next turbo to be...I am just waiting for the current one to punch out. Like others said above, lots of supporting mods needed. Step 1, buy Evo, Step 2 learn how to drive it, Step 3 read, read and re-read every thread on this forum, step 4 buy the right supporting mods the first time with end goals in mind. Step 5 Make your own call on which turbo you want to run based off your power goal and what you have learned along the way.

There is no problem if someone wants to go right to step 10! Just do it all right the first time. Saves you a ton of money in the long run. Just make sure you bring it to a great shop to tune it if you don't/can't tune yourself. Your huge purchase will suck big time if its not tuned properly, and or you will blow the **** up!
