Yea it would be cool for like a week, then you would really start questioning it. I would rather lose the 5hp and keep my hearing.

I had my car 3 inch turbo back straight pipe. Ive never noticed a difference. It now has a muffler because I drove the car 300 mile in one shot and wanna to kill my self. Straight pipe and a dump is retarded. But if I had to do it again i would keep it straight pipe because it sounded just like the green car in the last video just camming brains

mine was never fully to the rear of the car it was cut right behind the rear diff about 6 inchs up from there. I think if it was out the back it would of been doable.

yeah, i agree with the last statement...having the exhaust exit underneath the car is asking for drone and a lot of in-cabin noise...mine is definitely going to be exiting out the rear and maybe even have an exhaust tip so it doesnt look so dinky...

Anyone who tells you this doesn't know what they are talking about. Period. Just turn around a walk away.

Backpressure is the enemy of any forced induction engine. A piece of straight pipe obviously produces very little back pressure which is good for power.

Having said that, each one of those cars sound HORRIBLE, imho... A nice, high quality, stainless, straightthru design muffler will produce very little backpressure, but make the car sound much better.

Honestly, on a stock turbo car or even small-sized upgraded turbo car this isn't even an issue. You would probably see hardly any horsepower gain on a stock turbo car by going straight pipe vs. a nice muffler.

I actually am doing a straight pipe setup on my car... Its a fully built 2.0 with a 6765 turbo... the car is really just gonna be a weekend warrior.

I say if its a high horsepower car that doesn't see much street driving why not

More flow is great after the turbo. So there should be performance gains. The turbo is the only back pressure you need. Everything after can be deleted or made bigger and straight piped

Not sure if my exhaust fits your requirements as it has two resonators but does not have a muffler. But, for what it's worth I think your Evo would drop a few pounds while getting louder. I noticed since removing the rear muffler and replacing it with a pipe it feels pretty light back there...

You sir are wrong.

No back pressure can cause you to lose tq.

If you put a 4" exhaust on a stock turbo you will see a big hit.

I am cutting my muffler off and welding in a straight pipe. yea its going to be loud as hell, but it already is now. I am doing it because i want less attention, and the big muffler is the first thing cops seem to stop me for. the v8 guys dont get nearly as much crap for their loud exhausts and i think its because they dont have big flashy mufflers that stand out.

Yea most of the cars in those videos don't sound right. The words "too loud" will never come out of my mouth when talking about exhaust...louder isn't always better, but if it's too loud then ur too old lol. The straight pipe almost sounds cheap...too much popping and its just too raspy. I like the idea of having a resonator instead of a muffler...it might drown out that popping noise u hear (see the video of the GG with the rear up on ramps) when u let off the gas. buschur sells a muffler delete pipe with a resonator instead...but it obviously only fits with BR exhaust

Less back pressure on a turbo car, the better.
