i have no failures. 45k of weekend drag. 10-15 runs a night 6k dump launches. probably 50 pulls at 160-170mph. and three 24hour straight through trips from el paso to chicago. i've ran the exedy twin carbon and two stock clutches i had 316hp 326tq for a couple years. then turned up to the boost just under 400hp. i also have one of the only 6sp short throws if it matters. i've had 2 oil changes... no shavings no grinding no whining

mustang dyno's produce lower readings than dynojet's which would give you the 315whp number you are looking for

I know, still with those mods the dyno he was on must be low reading.

Joseph143 Do you have the works short throw? How do you like it? Do you have any shifter bushings?

STM has a mustang dyno so the numbers are lower reading. On a dynojet I would expect to see around 300/300. The boost is almost maxing out the stock 8 turbo, but it is slightly conservative. During the tuning for the current power I have, I had zero knock which I was very happy with. Emery at STM said he could push it a little further, but I said I was happy with where it was at.

STM's 'Ricer' makes 783awhp on the same dyno and runs a 9.2sec 1/4.

Every dyno is different, but the point of this thread is to get a rough estimate at what power levels people run their 6 speed at and does this lead to failure.

PM me if you want to discuss what power you may obtain during your upcoming tune!

To add, folks can have a look through the link. Clicking on each car shows it dynograph and its time slip. STM is a serious performance shop. The dyno isn't used to impress forum members; it is used a tuning tool. It's not about the numbers; it's about the results:

No breaky yet.
67K miles. ~180 passes at the drag strip and 35 Autox's. I've also been cruising around on the autobahn for the past 4 months at an average speed of 100-105mph (several hours at a time). I've probably racked up a good 1,500 miles at that speed so far. ~300-315 WHP/WTQ on an MD.

^ The 6speeds hold up great to that HP level. Usually 500whp+ on a DJ will make them not so "happy"
