Any Increase with Only Downpipe and stock Exhaust??

I've searched with no luck

Looking at the possibilty of keeping the stock exhaust and adding an RRE downpipe. (not the RRE stealth Exhaust)

Will there be ANY gains at all with this or is the exhaust limiting the downpipe too much?

Any Difference in spool?

Will there be a difference in sound?

I understand that a full exhaust will be better but I Live in So Cal -Lots of police just looking for excuses.

There will be mild gains, sure. The stock downpipe takes more bends than an aftermarket downpipe and isn't even as rounded as the rest of the stock exhaust.

It probably won't sound very different, but if you also replace the exhaust manifold and/or the cat, you'll definitely change the note.

I ran a 3" test pipe and 3" downpipe with the stock cat-back after selling my aftermarket cat-back to have a more subtle sound. The spool and low/mid torque is still great and sounds perfect IMO. I'll most likely never buy another aftermarket exhaust again.

I did that exact same thing when i had my car because i was planning on the full exhaust anyways. I noticed absolutely no marked change in the car with an aftermarket downpipe. However the day i put on the catback it came to life and you could easily feel the increased spool and torque in the low end.

If i did it again it wold be catback first or at least test pipe first.

In the process of modifying my vehicle, I dyno'ed my car before and after installing my downpipe which is a DC Sports (downpipe and cat delete in one). Horsepower and torque gains were 7 hp and 8 lbs. Test was done same day with about a 1 1/2 hour difference.

will it damage anything if I keep the stock exhaust and only add LICP intake and DP. Like I said CARB and polic make it difficult especially with an exhaust

I have ran ran a setup consisting of o2 housing, 3" downpipe, 3" testpipe and oem catback. It was OEM quiet during normal driving. And no you will not damage anything running a similar setup as I described or just changing to a 3" downpipe and keeping the cat on.

Thanks

Would mild cams 264/264 do anything at all with a stock exhaust? Like I said Cali rules make thing difficult and I feel I'm too old for getting pulled over for these things
