Hydrolocked my built 2.0L ... pics inside
Not sure what happened exactly, but whatever this cylinder sucked in (water/oil), it couldn't compress and this is the result.
Bearings look perfect, wrist pin was intact, but both sides of the block were wiped out and the oil pan was warped.
The head escaped relatively unscathed, micraculously. But there was one lobe on the exhaust cam (on a different cylinder) that had some marring... not sure where that came from.

Sucks to hear this, just as you were about to install the hta86.
It still doesn't make sense to me that it hydrolocked, you mentioned to me you never drove through puddles, plus your intake sits up right like most. Hmm!!

That sucks! Put your pay pal up. If everyone who's bennifited by your contributions to our community kicks you $10 bucks you'll have your new motor covered and then some. I'll be the first to do it.
Who else wants to give back? Every self-tuner out there could probably stand to give this guy a little thank you.

Thanks, all. I still don't know exactly what happened. The engine had been consuming oil from somewhere recently. I didn't suck in water through the intake, it either came from the head or perhaps the turbo.

goodluck with your next motor though
