Well today (3/20/2011) I got some more work done. I am still waiting on my cams from FP and my hotside to come back from Tial. Those two parts are holding progress up. I expect to get them sometime this week. I also believe my Buschur intake manifold should be ready this week as well. So hopefully next weekend I can get this puppy ready to turn key. I'm getting very excited to hear her run again!!!

I finished installing the radiator, mounted the fan, and mounted the fan module/relay. I also finished the AN lines and fittings. I love the way the black looks. I plan to do all of my lines using the same nylon hose and black AN fittings. The radiator fits like OEM and is nice and secure. The kit Buschur sells comes with EVERYTHING needed for installation.

The oil pan is bolted up using a nice set of allen head black bolts I found at a local hardware store. I bought a set to use with my valve cover as well. I'm hoping to have my valve cover powder coated black if the budget permits.

More pics will be posted as more is completed. I can't wait to get on the dyno and make some power!!

What rim and tire combo are you going to using?
RX7 w/ QTP's? Stock Evo rim w/ M/T slicks? or something else?

aren't you afraid after 2 dozen runs that the steel you use for o-ringing the head will push in to the softer aluminum head and compromise your seal?

I currently use OEM VIII rims with M/T 26/7/17 slicks. My best sixty foot to date is a 1.37 using that combo. They work very well but will most likely consider the new 17" slicks M/T is working on for our cars.

On the street I run a set of 18 x 8.5" Black Enkei RFP1s with M/T 245/45/18 drag radials. You can pull 1.5's all day long on these and they handle pretty good in the corners still.

I actually also picked up a set of 93 FD RX7 rims to use with QTP's. I am torn on what to do with them right now. I might wait till the new M/T's comes out in 17 to decide. The FD's only weigh 13.8 lbs each. Getting a 17 around 13-14 lbs each is possible but will cost quite a bit and are harder to come about. So who knows right now. I do not want to give up my OEM Brembo brakes.

We don't use steel on my setup. I'm pretty sure Buschur knows what they are doing when it comes to that subject. I have made hundreds of runs over the last 2 years using their stage 3 head.

Ya 550 a rim to go down the 1320 isn't going to happen LOL. I'm pretty sure the Kosei K1 TS's were made in a 17x7.5 or something close to that and were like 14.2 lbs each. Those you can find for about 200 a rim.

I bought a used said of FD rims at the end of last year, had them blasted and now they are coated in a color like the bottom of the JDM rear bumpers. I mounted two Hoosier QTP's on them last week and ordered two more, I think they came in at 32.x pounds each. The MT's are a few months out still.

That sounds right. The QTPs are 18 lbs each new. 13.8 lb rim plus some weight from powder coating would put them right at 32.x each. You must have purchased the lightweight version of the FD's. The heavier FD's are around 15 lbs each.
