Lightbulb K&N Short Ram intake Gain 14 WHP!!!

I was just on the K&N Website and they have their new short ram typhoon inake that they have dynoed and have gotten a 14 whp gain on an AWD dyno Is this true 14 WHP just from an inake seems kinda high. Some vender with an AWD dyno, I.E. vivid,AMS,Vishnu, should do a test with this intake and see if this is true.

"Testing on K&N’s in-house Twin 248 Dynojet AWD dynamometer shows an average gain of 14 horsepower at the Evo’s wheels."

well I have one and installed it on Friday. It looks awesome, but sorry I cant tell you of performance at this time or dyno results as I did not get to dyno the car on Sat. because of fuel cut problems. As far as looks and sound, I like it.

If its true 14hp awd, you dont need a dyno to know. You should be able to feel it.

it hsould be true, I believe it was bushur who said that adding a Hard intake pipe affected the flow and allowed excess air to be added that the MAF doesn't acount for. This would inturn cause a leaner fuel mixture and would add some hp.

have mine installed . might put back the stock one. i lost all power over 5000rpm. It used to at least pull a little over 5 but dead flat. Noisy, i had to take the k&n out of my turbo diesel cause the oil would bleed from the suction and coat the turbo and MAP. i would wash it with carb cleaner every 6 mos or so. Ill be watching to see if it coats the evo real close. From now on, ill do more research before spending another dime on anything......RRR

I've heard with upgraded ECU's, intake is a no-no to change!
