evo 9 spark plug choices which ones?
I'm looking to get sparm plugs one step colder for my new setup. My new setup will be BBK-Full at 25-26 PSI, ETS 3.5 intercooler, map EM, LICP, turbo back exhaust, engine intake, O2 housing, and downpipe. I am either caught between the hks m series plugs one step colder or the ngk r7437-8. The ngks are $160 and the hks are $100. So I was thinking hks and don't want to go denso as I heard bad reviews even though the denso are the cheapest iridium one step colder u can get for the evo 9. So any input and experience is appreciated.
I'm running the OEM plugs on my HTA green pushing 31 psi. Gap down to .022 .
I dont understand why are the 1 step colder plugs 300 % the price of the OEM plugs? Even the OEM heat range NGK is outrageous in my opinion. But ok lets buy into the bs of the oem is expensive because it has that milligram of iridium. What does the 1 step colder NGK have that justifies its price for a freaking spark plug?

it's recommended by tuners if you have a modded evo... 1 step colder or not, ngk is the way to go.
Idk, my one step colder ngks are $33...
.020-.022 should be the gap range i belive

Yeah if u have an evo 8 u can get iridium one step colder ngk plugs for 40 bucks. If you have an evo 9 the only step colder plugs are the r7437-8 which are 160. But the hks are a 100. So yeah u say ngk which I think are the best brand u can get but is it worth the 160 vs 100 dollars. I don't want to go copper STD as u have to change them quite often and I'm trying to keep knock down and other benefits from the colder plugs. So is It worth 160 or get the hks for 100. Experience with both is a plus to make a GD debate.

i have the mods listed in my sig... i ran the 150dollar 1 step colder ngks for like 4 months before the fouled out. but before and since i've ran stock plugs from the dealer and they work great... gapped to .022/3 not one issue...
so far theyve put up with 31psi on a stock ix turbo, and 28 psi on a green... methanol... 110octane... and heavily enriched 91 with 2 large cans of 108turbo octane booster. which btw is the only booster i've found to actually effect knock just fyi

Im currently running IHK22's and find that the car misses sometimes when i turn it up to 25 PSi. Its fine when i put it on actuator pressure. I only just got the car recently and im told that the plugs have been gapped.
Im now looking into these NGK r7437-8 or some OEM ones.
My question is, do you have to specify a specific gap with either of these?
