Finally got around to changing the drivetrain fluids today. While it was on the lift I took a look around and the only thing I found was that I have a forge wg. I didn't know I had it before. Everthing else seemed fine vaccum lines and hoses looked fine. Im lost and getting pissed.

Could a bad bov cause my problem? Im running an hks ssqv which everyone says are junk and today before leaving from getting my fluids changed I noticed I could push the valve in with light pressure and it would not close almost like the spring is broke. There's no difference if the car is on or off I can still push the valve in with light pressure. Maybe this could be leaking my 5 psi+? Im installing my stock one tomorrow and will take a rride and see.

Just do yourself a favor and pick up a 9 BOV/DV on the forum used. I have seen some very cheap as of late and they are better than the crap plastic OEM 8 BOV.

Well today I tried reinstalling my stock oem bov and broke the nipple off so im seeing if a buddy will let me use another bov to see if it changes anything. I also noticed the nut on my wastegate rod has come loose and was halway down the threads. Is it suppose to be tightened up toward the 02 housing or down toward the wg? And could that be the problem?

So I tried the reseting the ecu theory to no avail. Only thing it done was make my car idle like straight **** for an hour or so until the ecu re learnt everything.

Today I tried taking my manifold off and replacing it myself. I broke two ratchets which broke my spirits on even trying. I put my uicp and intake back on and decided to go wash the car. I have a wideband in the car that went out months ago and low and behold it decides to start working again so I got some good info from it. On the way back I did a third gear pull from about 30 mph 2500rpm or so I went wot. The afr swung down to around 12.5 to 13.5 which is way lean.I also only hit around 2 psi at 3500 and maxed out at 10 psi around 6k today. All of this is suggesting the culprit to be the cracked manifold. Doesn the wideband read leaner when there is a leak before the sensor? I have an appointment at my local shop too get my manifold swapped and im also going to be installing the open o2 dump at that time and hoping and praying this fixes my car.

Thanks. To everyone who chimed in with advice the cracked manifold was the problem I found more than one crackonce it was off. I also installed a vta o2 dump while it was apart and that one piece makes me grin ear to ear. If u don't have one get one and u can thank me later

i read this thread because i was on 14psi for the longest time. thought it was a leak. come to find out my factory boost pill was removed. and i was running wastegate pressure.

anyways, with your vta o2 dump does yours sound like an exhaust leak? i run a muse one and it sounds like it leaks. i ran the cheap gasket that it came with and now run the modern automotive performance metal split o2 gasket...same issue. the dump tube always has gases being released.

i honestly think my stock 8 turbo/ wastegate are just tired at 100k miles. but just curious

I actually posted a thread about this today as well under possible problems with vta o2 dump. I figured mine would leak when I installed it since the gasket wasn divided. Mine doesn't sound like an exhaust leak like most the time an exhaust leak sounds like a tractor or ticking, mine sounds like it has a turn down or electric cut out up fron. If I put my hand over the pipe I can feel significant amounts coming through. I love how it sounds, however im just worried it will throw my afr off on the wide band. I also noticed after installing this for some reason my bov is fluttering under light throttle when letting off but on wot it doesn't flutter, its strange it didn't do it before.
