Evo IX MR transmission 6pd.

Hi,

I would like to know if there is any possibility to rebuild this gearbox when it will break down??

If there is any possibility to buy somewhere part's I will need to rebuild? If yes, where??

Is it possible to build it using better and stronger part's.

Please let me know because I think it will be better to rebuild it than buying another one on the second hand market. The true is I don't really know what I buy

Thank's and please discuss

if you have deep pockets, talk to shep for his 6th speed rebuild gearset.

if you want a more affordable route, talk to jon@tre. There is a setup where he shot peens the gearset and adds oil passages to aid in cooling. This will allow for holding more torque

Shep:

Jon @ tre

The cost of sheps rebuild is a bit more because he uses a different gearset and I don't know if he has any more available at the time or can rebuild it. You would have to call and ask.

The tre rebuild is covered on that link. I wouldn't give the trans to any one else but these two. There are shops that rebuild trans but it's not the same as jon nor shep since they take rebuilding it to the next level. This is enough info to answer your topic.

The weakness of the six speed is lack of oil passages and 4th gear. tq rating is much lower.
Read the tre webpage for more info

-Best of luck

I was never able to source the parts i needed. I believe you have to get them thru a dealer some of the parts come straight from japan and depending on what goes can be very pricey. One of the input shafts is over a grand alone.

also contact RussellM. You might not be able to find all the oem parts you need for the 6-speed but he'll point you in the right direction.
