got a question. EGR related

Ok so i did the egr delete. Are either of the two ports i capped off near the throttle body sufficient for a boost gauge (red)? currently i am tied into the FPR line but since i now have two ports that are just hanging out i am wondering if i can use either of them for boost gauge vacuum? obviously i would just try it and find out but i am waiting on parts so i cant start the car.

Thanks in advance

Why not use the port directly on the manifold that you have a yellow cap on? that would work. i dont think you can use either with the red cap but not 100% positive

NO the red caped niples are not meant to read boost or vacumm.

THANKS for the responses!!. I know i can use the yellow port if i figure out some sort of reducer because a vacuum line for a gauge is much smaller.

The boost gauge should have came with a reducer, if not; Autozone sells vacuume cap kits that has a reducer. i think it was 5.99$ for the kit and it comes in handy

Actually after thinking about it, i should T my boost gauge into my BPV line then get a reducer and run my hobbs switch for my double pumper off the yellow port so its directly connected to vacuum. Since its currently tied into my BPV line i would be eliminating 4 possible points of failure that could potentially be disastrous if a line were to pop off the T or the valve.

to add my 0.02 you dont wanna have your blowoff valve and boost gauge t'd into the same line, it could either cause fluctuation in the gauge reading, or cause a delay in bov response, i have my blow off valve line directly off the intake mani at the port in the middle between #2 and #3 injector where that, ive read on here numerous times best place for your boost gauge hose should hook up on the fpr line...now to keep it from coming off just securely fasten it to the t, put a zip tie on it and it shouldnt pop off im running 26psi peak and have had the line pop once. If it does it repeatedly, get a new vacuum hose, but put a little bit of super glue on the outside of the t, put the hose on zip tie it n it will never pop off unless your over 600 hp haha...hope that helps.
