Losing Cooliant, does that mean blown head gasket

Yo was up everyone. Im having a problem right now my 03 evo 8. i notice that whenever i start up the car to let it warm up, i notice a lil bit of white smoke coming out of the exhuast and when i look in the front of the car, i see smoke coming from the front of it. Yesterday i saw that my cooliant was almost empty so i filled it up yesterday and when i turned on the car to warm it up and saw smoke coming from the front of it, i turned off the car and checked the cooliant next to the radiator and saw that it was empty.

With the white smoke, i only see it when the car is idling, but once i start driving, i can hardly see the smoke but when i turn on the car its kinda rough and then its not rough anymore. is that a sign of my head gasket getting ready to blow? ive been looking at my temperature gauge and it hasnt shot up to Hot and i notice that my fans on my radiator arent moving. i hope some one can tell me or help me. thank you

Check your oil, if it looks like a milkshake you have a blown headgasket. No signs of coolant leaking anywhere in the bay?

Take it to a shop and have it looked at ASAP. It could be as simple as a leaking hose or radiator. Driving the car without fans is pretty risky. Easy way to blow a motor.

I had looked at the oil and the coolant and i didnt see anything that was milky in oil. I also notice that the white smoke thats coming from my exhaust is coolant.

sounds like from what you just described is your prolly leaking at the banjo fitting for your coolant lines for the turbo...spray off with brake cleaner go do a drive, drive it hard for about a mile pull over and check under hood but be careful you dont get sprayed nothin is as bad as hot coolant hittin ya...good luck

I also have a coolant leak but it does not leak when idling its only when I drive it hard and its spraying on my upper intercooler pipe. Ive looked about everywhere I think of in that area and still have found nothing. Its just really hard to tell when it doesnt do it at idle. Yaw guys got any suggestions?

@mitsuevo03 my guess bro is one of two things either your leaking coolant at the thermostat housing where the upper hose is, or you might possibly be leaking at one of the heater core hoses, theres two they both feed behind the thermostat housing to the firewall, if lookin under hood, to the left of the master cylinder two basic rubber hoses. Or the other thing it could be off hand, is maybe one of the coolant hoses for the throttle body....good luck take pics and report back

I had this same issue. It turned out that there was a rip in one of my coolant lines. When it was just sitting even if it was running, it would not leak. But when i would drive, it would open up and drain my coolant.

There are only two ways coolant can come out of the tailpipe: head gasket failure or thru the turbo. A leak through the turbo would be incredibly rare and unlikely to be enough to smoke; and it probably wouldn't cause the car to run rough on startup. Take you rad cap off, completely fill the rad and overflow, then start the car if you get instant pressure or continuos bubbling you've likel got a failed headgasket. You can also pull the plugs to see if there are signs of coolant on the plugs or if one cylinder appears steam cleaned. Both are tell tale signs
