Lol this is just an Evo forum it's not like I called channel ten news and CNN.

 

It has nothing to do with the clutch AT ALL! The Retainer clip is the same for stock, Comp, Exedy, ACT and so on. You can order a clip for ANY of them and it will work for ANY of them. Most likely the input shaft hit the retainer ring when going in and that put it off its seat just enough to pop off. Do a search and you will find PLENTY of situations where the clip has popped off during the install. Wether your a master tech or not it can still happen. I have done as many or more Evo trans jobs than you I bet and its happened a couple times. Just like its not a 9 hour job to do a clutch.

So dont blame a company for something thats not their product nor their mistake.
