20g or Evo 9 turbo?

I have a Evo 8 with basic bolt ons. cams, intake, tbe, mbc, lower intercooler pipe and fuel pump tuned at 25lbs. Car put out 323hp. I was considering a 20g or evo 9 turbo. Which is better to get me around 350-370hp? I have exactly 1k to spend. Ive searched but cant find much on 20gs. Thats to all that help me out here.

You should be close to 350whp (dynojet) with those mods. My buddy's Evo 8 got 315whp with intake, TBE with HFC, MBC and fuel pump on Ivey's dyno last week.

Check this out, the 71HTA would be a good fit for your goals and in your pricerange.

I have the Jdm evo 9 20g with the 6-blade compressor on mine, it doesn't seem like a bad turbo, but is it worth spending the cash on it over the stock 9? Probably not. Mine just came with the car when I bought it. I have the same mods you do and I might be getting it dyno'd this weekend on a local mustang heartbreaker dyno - should be interesting to see what it will make.

You know, I honestly don't know. According to the previous owner, yes. But I can't confirm it.

Save up a wee bit more cash and get a BBK-Full, an FP HTA Green, or an HKS 7460R. The 20G designation can apply to a lot of different turbos. Mostly 20G refers to outdated turbo technology however. I would jut save up a bit more cash and get something worthwhile.

Gentlemen it's all in the parts selection and how the car was wrenched. There is no magic, so look over your parts list, remove anything questionable and go from there.

Hmoney list your entire parts list on here let me see.

Do it right, or do it twice....

Save some more and get something with good potential and worthwhile

I would say do this or the FP white if ur looking to spend about 1g. Either should be enough to put you past 350 on Ivey's dyno. Did you mention what cams u have?

Is this just an upgrade - seems like it cannot be purchased outright for Evo 8 turbo'd owners?

It's an exchange, and I believe you could just pay the core charge and have it shipped directly without having to wait.
