question about the clutch retaining clip

hey all,
I've just replaced my clutch and flywheel with act.
After the clutch, I started hearing a clicking noise from the wheel area or underneath the car (noise gets faster as I drive faster). At first, and I still do, I thought it was a clicking noise from a bent brake shield thats hitting the wheel or something. Its not a huge noise..it sounds as if a small metal piece or ziptie is hitting something...I inspected the shield and nothing was hitting the wheel or anything.
Then, Im starting to think if it could be the clutch retaining clip popped off. My buddies and I had such a difficult time getting the clutch back in without touching the retaining clip. we got it done, but im afraid if might have popped off after the install.
So, I would like to know if there would be any symptoms to know if the clip has popped off. the car drives and shifts fine.. its jus that ticking noise is getting really annoying.
Any help is appreciated!!Thanks,

Does it do it when turning only, or all the time? Maybe axle popping.
