stock motor

what do you guys think i should do. I messed up my motor by letting a friend borrow the car untuned and he was ******* the car. So i now I have the option of getting a stock motor with 21k miles or doing a full build. I want to make 500 whp. Should I buy the stock motor for 2k and slap on an fp black with supporting mods and make 500. or should i spend 4-5k to build the motor and make maybe 550ish????

I am told that stock motors have longer life span thn built motors because of the type of pistons used. Also that stock motors will hold 480-500 whp all day.

I also have the option of having that stock motor built later on. it will cost me about 2.5k to do it because at that point it will b a build with the motor in the car.

what should i do ....

For the power number you are looking for you absolutely should build the motor now. A bone stock motor (stock cams, headstuds) is not going to hit 500 whp. You need at least cams (and arguably headstuds). With the motor out of the car already its silly to not build the motor now. The power numbers you are talking about are also heavily dependent on available fuel type. If you have E85 available you can get a lot more power safely.

Also, don't lend your car to friends and don't drive it/let it be driven untuned. :P

the car has a bigger fuel pump and runs on e85. and i have head studs that i purchased. should i just buy cams springs and retainers and use the stock motor. they told me that they know the motor so they will have no problem building it without taking it out of the car later on.

if you keep lending your car to friends, then yes you will be back to the shop regardless of what engine you put

On a serious note, what exactly happen to the motor you have now?

running the car untuned caused detonation or something and something put gashes in the cylinder walls of piston 2 and the guy told me that it will just keep on getting worse. cuz the piston is going up n down in a chamber that isn't perfectly cylindrical.

i just want to know if with a stock motor with head studs and maybe a built head will it hold 500 all day? an of my 2 options which would b best

Stock motor and 500 is rather risky, i know i personally would not be comfortable with that setup, but hey it is possible.
