T-case will not mate trans???

My car has been apart for over 8 months and i am finally puting everything back together. I have the motor and tranny back in and now the t-case will not mate up with the tranny. I backed it off several times to make sure everything was clear and that the dowel pin is lined up. It acutally barely starts on the dowel pin. It goes all the way on until a little over 1/4 inch. I tried to pull it on by tightening some of the bolts with no luck. I have changed my clutch 3 times and never had this issue. Only since i got my tranny rebuilt by shep. Anybody else have this issue? Is there another input shaft that can go in the tranny that would be a tad bit longer and cause this issue?

Try rotating the splines and if it's still connected to the driveshaft, lift the driveshaft up and down while pushing. I had the same problem recently, I mounted the t-case, then had to remove it again for some reason and then it wouldn't go back in no matter what I did. Came back the next day to try again and it went right it.
