O2 dump with stock exhaust?

So I am currently stationed in Washington but will probably end up living in California/I visit back home in CA often. I was wondering if keeping a stock exhaust and using an O2 dump was a viable solution to try and keep a low profile and not have to worry about emissions as much in the future but still allow me to have a fun 400hp street car. I've done quite a bit of researching and really haven't found anything related. Thoughts and opinions?

I'm pretty sure it's do-able. For smog, you can just slap on the stock cat. I'd run a 3"dp and testpipe/HFC.

I bought an EPM o2 dump from a member and was planning on installing that, everything else stock. As soon as I start making boost it would basically work as a cutout? Correct me if I am wrong.

well the wastegate flow would go thru the dump but the rest would go thru the stock exhaust with the dump only.

I've ran an epm o2 dump with the stock exhaust. It definitely felt down on power compared to a full 3", but it was very quiet (when the waste gate was closed). I never got the chance to dyno with that setup though.

I would really be interested to see dyno results for the difference between just an o2 dump and a full 3" TBE just to see the difference in spool and power. Maybe I'll just have to be the guinea pig for this haha

Get a 3" downpipe and testpipe/hfc to replace the stock small units. Should gain some more numbers there.

There is no way an O2 dump will ever pass emissions in CA (legally anyways), sorry. And I don't believe a stock exhaust will provide enough flow to support 400 hp either. That's just my belief though, I've never personally tried, but I bet some one will post that he know's of one guy who saw it done on the internet. Here in CA a few have gone with low profile exhausts; full 3 inch piping, straight through 3 inch resonator, staright through 3 inch muffler, and all painted flat black. That recipe does not draw attention from police, and still provides enough exhaust flow. Stuff like this;

Hm definitely some food for thought. My buddy has an Ebay exhaust and is making almost 600hp and the price is right. Anyone have a DP/Test pipe for sale?
