like i said before, if it is genuine compressor surge (which would be very weird for having an anti surge cover) then try loosening the preload on the wastegate actuator.
this will make the wastegate open earlier (due to exhaust manifold backpressure)

Yes, turn the buckle on the actuator arm about 1 full turn counter clockwise and give that a shot...this will effectively change how the car comes on boost and most likely how much it will hold up top.

if the car was tuned correctly, it will not change the tune.
if the car was tuned poorly, then yes it will change the tune.
I would contact FP about your surging too, i dont think it's very common.
