Tcase Fluid Color

I recently changed my tcase and rear diff fluid to amsoil svg 75w 90. After changing the fluids for the first time i noticed that the tcase fluid was shiny had like a silver shine to it. The rear diff the fluid came out clean though no shaving or anything. I have now switched back to the diaqueen fluids and will be checking the tcase fluid next change. Just wondering if anyone else has had the same problem cause im concerned my tcase may be on its way out?

Input would be appreciated

thanks

Sometimes it will look shiney due to tiny air bubbles within the fluid. You should be okay. If you still have the oil you cab send it into the UOA and have them test it.

Jon at TRE said to use 80w140 so maybe 75w90 is to thin.

Thanks for the info guys, i didnt save the oil but after the next change i will to have it looked at. My car is pretty much all stock other then a tune currently running 24 psi. Would a thinker tcase oil be recommended or should the diaqueen be fine to use?

How often are you changing the tc fluids? Were there a lot of shavings caught in the drain magnet?

I change the fluids around every 15k, and that was the weird thing there were no shaving on the drain plug, the fluid just had a metallic silvery shine to it.

Sorry to tell you this, I recently had the death whine, and my oil was very silver. You might want to start saving some $. Jack's Transmissions in Colorado did a Stage 2 rebuild for me, I must not have had enough oil in it when I took it around the block, it immediately whined at 45 mph. They redid it AGAIN, no cost to me.

Thanks U.P. thats what I was afraid of because when the oil was drained it seemed pretty low. I have a friend with an evo 8 tcase can the evo 8 tcase be used on the evo 9?
