compression question?

I am wondering how big cams affect base compression. I am running 272 kelford cams and i have been told that the overlap on the cams could cause a low compression reading. anyone run into this ? and what should the compression be. I have a fully built 2.0 with 9.0 to 1 J.E.pistons car still made 519whp with 115 PSI compression across the board
