New motor...now very rich!

OK...I will try to keep this short. I had the stock 2.0L with cams and all other supporting mods. I ended up getting a deal on a brand new 2.2L. I had it installed and flashed the tune with the adjustment for the injector scaling for the increased displacement. After driving for a bit, when getting into boost it was hitting high 9 afrs. I then figured I would flash it back to the original scaling and that barely helped. I checked for boost leaks and it is solid there. The only thing I could find is that my TPS is showing 2.0v at idle which i know is not correct. I have a new TPS on the way but wanted your guys thoughts on whether the TPS could be the cause or if there is something else I should look for.

Thanks in advance

-Shaun

You might want to post this in the ECUFlash forum as well.

I thought about that the second I posted it. I just don't want to get slammed by posting it in multiple areas now lol.

high 9s is really rich man, i would start with the TPS, becuz one thats bad will cause the car to run funky to say the least. Do you have a wideband on the car? Showing thats what your running for your afr, once you get the TPS sensor set it up through ecuflash to where you can get the TPS sensor hooked up properly with idle volts. Then after that you might end up having to lean out your WOT map a full point to start. If you search in the Ecuflash section on the forum, theres a calculation you can do where you can change your fuel map inputting the correct numbers to get to where you wanna be in your afrs..

I do have a wideband setup which is how I am seeing the high 9's. I should have the new TPS in a couple of days, its just one of those nagging things that annoys me until I know what the issue is. Just wanted to see if anyone else has any other ideas on what to look for while waiting on the TPS. I really want to get this motor running good enough to put some break in miles on it by traveling to Winged Warrior.

why would you do adjustments for 2.2 liters?
thats the fuel map, not the injector scaling...

well if his injectors arent scales properly that could cause his car to either run predominantly rich or lean...so the first thing is to make sure you injectors are scaled properly, what size injectors are you running and brand? I know in Ecu flash forum that have a thread for just about every brand and size injectors and volts and scaling for them. Try that first then do a datalog, and see if your afrs got better

From what I have read it could be a good starting point.

That being said, I have flashed it back to the original scaling and it is still pig rich.

OK...scaling. Where to start on this one lol. On the 2.0l block my injectors had to be scaled completely different for some reason. I currently run FIC1050's and in order for the trims to be correct, and the afrs to align with the map, they were scaled at 1170. This was looked at by both a remote tuner and AMS and determined to be working correctly. That being said, I would have to scale these things around 1500 to get rid of this richness which i know is not correct.

The main confusion for me is....Everything on the car stayed the same outside of the motor. Now i know the motor changes a lot, and personally I would have expected it to run lean if I used the same map based on the increased displacement, instead it is VERY rich. That is why I am confused.

Now I know they adjusted the trims and thats what they recommend? what are your trims currently? Now have you had the car boost leak tested, if you have a decent size leak, that could also be peggin the afrs rich. But to start lean out the fuel map by a full point of where yo u have it now, cuz worse if you start goin towards the leaner side, youll at least be in the mid 10s afr which is conservative, however not lean enough to ping ya. So do a datalog with your car in 3rd starting around 2500 rpms, and log your normal values, and post it ill help you out as best as i can.
