Exedy Twin too much for DD?
As the title states, I'm wondering if an Exedy Twin is too much clutch for a DD IX with about 320awhp. I came across a great deal on a used Twin and will be rebuilding it and installing it since my current clutch is slipping badly. I'm asking this because I've read in a few threads that the Twin has "way too much friction" for DD situations and will wear out very quickly. I didn't seem to think that this was the case but I know absolutely nothing about clutches so any help will be greatly appreciated!

Good question! I am looking at getting an exedy twin for my DD but, I am looking at having about 500ish tq in mine. Would also like to hear peoples experiences with an exedy twin in a daily driver. Especially how you are using it eg if you see the track/ race. Thanks!

I'm making like over 550hp and have an exedy triple (assuming it might be worse than a twin) and I drive it everyday, OVER 500 miles a week, and its not bad at all. The only annoying part is the grinding noise it makes but thats normal. The twin HD and triple HD uses literally the same pressure plate so should be the same pedal pressure. I'm selling a triple also if you ever plan on making much more power in the future
So after years of hearing "Exeddy twins are great on the street" I put one in after several brands of single plate organics. I am getting much better at it but stop lights on steep grades still induce anxiety and if others drive my car I can see them struggle a bit.
The good:
-High RPM shifts are awesome.
-no lockout.
-Noise in terms of plates rattling (in my case anyway) is exagerated.
-SD version holds my 400/400 with very little pedal effort.
-Can be rebuilt
The bad:
-Very precise and difficult to modulate engagement point.
-Metallic groan when engaging (dubbed the seal bark).
-Not as "smooth" as the organic singles.
-May wear faster (no first hand experience only 6-7k on it so far)
