Ah, now we are changing teh STORY.

I WOULD REALLY appreciate if yoy said that in September

Just be like "George, we cannot supply everybody, and you suck, so you will get board WHENEVER I feel like"!

So I ha dto hear it from a total stanger that they have 10 boards for sale? It looksl ike yoiu were supplying only 2 companies with boards? So ALL of your other dealers suck?

Whoa! Not to get in the middle of this, but I think Steve just proved the point of Autronic's ****-poor customer service and their lack of dedication to the US market! While his comment may fit into the business model of a multi-billion dollar multi-national conglomerate, I think it hardly fits the needs of Autronic. Throughout this whole thread manufacturers were talking about "uninformed" comments and how wrong judgements easily perpetuated on the internet, but coming from the horses (in this case, ***'s) mouth - whoa!

Wow. Talk about making a stupid comment. I think you proved why people will be going with the US products.

Autronic

I got 21 units in the beginning. My 2 biggest dealers had already ordered more than that. I told everyone else who just wanted one unit they would have to wait for the next shipment. If these units weren't in big demand I could have shiped them out to the other dealers, but these other guys had oredred them long before anyone else.

I was taking care of the dealer who showed support through great sales and support. What is wrong with that? I understand evrybody want to be the first to get the new product, but our dealers need the product to sell.

Don't bash the others (it's such poor taste).
Actually this post is in poor taste.
Unfortunately i am posting late to this but i will anyway.
Im glad someone from another country knows more about " american thinking and ideals" that we do. **** and im a greek american immigrant. Realy the internet now gives you the right to spew **** HUH? Man simply amazing.
::END of rant::

I have never and i dont think anyone has bashed the Autronic unit. I have never used it but i know plenty who have. They work well and are very stable. Sometimes every vendor has issues when they first bring a product to market. With todays economy it is hard to be second to bring a product out. They did the best they could and im sure it will all work it self out.
I commented on the AEM because for this and many other applications i find it to be a great unit. I also use Haltech , MoTec and FAST. They all have their strengths. Some tuners prefer certain units for many reasons. Availability, support, applications and profit margin. Sometimes the market dictates which unit the general public will pay for not afford.
Personally i love the AEM and i get great support.
I think that we should all try and get as much support for the units we use and get the information out to the end user.
my 2 1/2 cents

This is something that many companies try doing. If someone is qualified to use the product you should offer it to them in the same respect. It isnt hard to get a prerequisite up and running for those to be accepted. Volume should not dictate support form the manufacturer.
I do agree that the end user should have complete compitence when dealing with such technology. It will directly affect the reputation they will endure for the life of the company.

Perfworks, Your posts are very well done. I wasn't offering my bigger dealer with more support. I had promissed them the product first. Sorry about the missunderstanding. Everyone gets support.

Yeah thats what i was saying I'm not even a customer (or dealer) I just happened to end up with a board. Steve or Ray didn't say "ask your dealer" they told me they want to do what's necessary to get another EVO 8 on the road with their product.... Gave me a referal to a well respected tuner in my area... Oh and btw they even offered to check-out the board for me ... FOR FREE to make sure the previous owner haden't some how damaged it by accident. ...No charge!... for a NON-CUSTOMER!!! ship it to them and they test the board and would then pay to ship it back to me. (note they are spending their money to service an orphaned unit) When I bought this unit I figured I was on my own! Nice to know I've found a company who backs their products regardless of ownership pathway. (both manufacturer and Importer).

Just my thoughts Oh and btw you guys on these forums need to remember... "better to be silent and thought a fool ... than to open your mouth and remove all doubt"

For the record since Microtech made it into the title of this post I had my first of probably several dealings with them today. They have an american headquarters out of Illinois that actually does tuning as well as tech support from my understanding. I talked with them and they knew exactly what I was looking for and had all the answers I need. I'll see if this remains the trend as I iron out the rest of the situation and get a better understanding of the unit. But so far I was extremely happy with the knowledge and responsiveness of their tech support. They did inform me that any reconfiguring of the computer would need to be shipped to Australia (for modifying wide band input configuration etc, which is all done at initial purchase typically), but most other things they could help me out with.

So far..
Microtech

Later.
