Outlander and evo 8 water pump the same??

So to try and keep this story short, The other day I went to do A second gear pull and as I started to build boost I had a violent bang from the engine bay and the car kind of sputtered and died as it happened. I pulled off the road and popped the hood. I found that the coolant hose that goes to the back of the t-stat housing had blown off. I slid the hose back on and limped the car home. Put the car on a hoist today and ran it in the air but did not see any leaks. Once I shut the car off it started to leak from the timing cover. So Im going to replace my waterpump and t-stat at the same time to see if that solves my problem. I just find it odd that the hose blew off the way it did. We tested to see if the head gasket was bad but it seems to be fine. I searched for a waterpump online and found this part number for the evo water pump: MD979313

When I search that part number it also comes up with Outlander 2.4 water pump. Just wondering if the evo and outlander share the same waterpump?? That would help a lot considering they didnt sell Evo's in Canada.

2.4 pumps are not the same as evo 8.
