Is there a simple way to remove the silver plug that screws into the valve cover that the 90* friction fit PCV valve elbow pushes into? I'd like to replace it with a thin-wall 90* fitting for better evac, but I'd like it to be reversable.

The fitting that the pcv screws into is pressed into the valvecover...unscrew pcv....then take decent size pliers and pull towards firewall while twisting....should slide out with a little force...GL

Same thing for drivers side tube coming out of vc...

Got that 90* fitting out easily. That's not the one I'm asking about. I want to remove the screws-into-the-valvecover silver plug that 90* fitting slips into. The one that's left in the cover AFTER you take the 90* fitting out.

Here's a shot of the 90* fitting in the back of my '05 valve cover (fitting 75% out):

It's smooth inside and appears to be threaded into the VC. I can't find any pics of it from under the VC . If it's just a threaded in plug, can I take a large screw extractor and twist it out?

That part should be pressed into the valve cover as well.

It looks to me like there are threads, but it's tough to tell. I have a large screw extractor I could use to get a bite and turn it, but I was hoping for someone to confirm that it's just a plug and pulling it out in this manner is OK.

i know an old post, but i was having issues getting mine out today, so i searched, and this is all i found.

way i got mine out.....

I found a large bolt that i semi threaded into the fitting. (i know, it doesnt have threads, but a hard steel bolt turned and pushed hard enough somewhat cuts its own threads.

then i hooked my slide puller to the bolt and after about 3 hits, it was out.
