Evo wont start??

So yesterday I was driving, nothing hard not even WOT. This morning when I tried turning my car on it barley did, and it idled between 700 and 250 very erratically. So my first though was to turn it off. About a minute later I tried it again with the same idle but kept it on and after about 30 seconds it stabled out and idled where it normally does. So just to be safe before I drove it I took if for a lap reved to about 3500 up to third gear then just to check I put the clutch to the floor and the car completely died. After that it would not turn on so I had it towed. What do you guys think? I was thinking anywhere from the range of bad fuel/fuel pump/fuel filter, all the way to the timing belt fell off or something and Im going to need some serious head work? Just wondering.

Check engine lights? Does the fuel pump prime? Does it crank really fast now in comparison to how it normally sounds?

Take a look at the ISC to see if it has broken teeth and test the resistance between pins to see if its bad. I had similar problems with mine died on start up unless i gave it gas and kept it going drove fine died if i came to a stop and didnt flutter throttle. Its worth a look and happens more on the older 03's.

Try checking fuse number 1 under the dash.

Cool, thanks like I said my car is just at a local shop so I didn't have to spend a ton of money towing it. I'll check everything today and get back if the problem hasn't been solved, I'm kind of really hoping its just the fuel pump or fuel filter.
