Evo 7 diff whine?

Hi,
My evo 7 seems to be making a whine during acceleration (making me thing it may not be a diff whine). Any ideas on what this noise could be? Pls see video url. Also there is a crackling sort of noise at part throttle in 3-4-5 gears which goes away when the throttle is buried. I am trying to figure out what these noises are. Any help would be extremely appreciated.

Very interesting. My 2002 Evo VII still sounds like new. I'd love to know what that sound is!

Kinda sounds like ring and pinion noise to me.

When driving today it kinda seems like its coming from the back but its so hard to tell for sure heres a vid of mine

Interesting. It sounds way too loud to be the rear diff, but it only whines when the rear diff would normally whine. You guys have upgraded rear diff bushings?

That weird because it's going away a little when you don't give it gas and then whining when you do. Shouldn't a diff issue whine all the time and get worse at higher speeds?

The rear diff noise has to do with the angle the pinion engages the ring, and that angle changes when torque is applied. That's why it only makes noise under light acceleration.

The t-case, on the other hand, makes noise all the time.

Just an update as for my 2cents. Changed the diff fluid today, and noticed my back two tired are cupped on the insides of each tire. Also my tires are Nitto nt555's, which are loud tires period. Changing the fluid helped a little. My master mechanic buddy says it's pure tire noise AND all the upgraded bushings I have... as my lash is in check perfect to spec.
